Family Leadership Opportunities

Volunteer leadership opportunities are available for families who have participated in Child First and Nurse-Family Partnership.

Parent Ambassador Program

The Parent Ambassador (PA) Program is Changent’s signature family engagement initiative, which is designed to elevate the voices of parents and caregivers with lived experience and equip them with training and support to be leaders in their community and advocate for Changent’s data-driven programs. Changent is committed to offering a platform for families with lived experience to be a key driver of impactful and informed advocacy.

The PA program is comprised of a cohort of 12-14 former participants of Child First or Nurse-Family Partnership who want to use their voices to uplift families and advocate for change. If you’re passionate about public speaking, advocacy, and connecting with others, this might be the perfect fit.

Parent Ambassadors will:

  • Commit to two years of service
  • Advocate at the local, state, and national levels
  • Share their personal stories with diverse audiences
  • Support awareness and outreach through various media channels
  • Receive training, participate in events, and grow their professional skills
  • Travel as needed for special events and speaking engagements

Family Advisory Council for Transformation

For Changent’s data-driven programs to continue to grow and be a resource to communities, we must expand the ways we engage families. Family perspectives provide insight into the programs and allow us to understand how we can better serve communities. As Changent continues to champion the health and well-being of children and families across the nation, it’s imperative that we listen to the family perspective. The Family Advisory Council for Transformation (FACT) will provide feedback and advice that is crucial to the implementation of Child First and Nurse-Family Partnership and supports innovation in how our programs reach children and families.

The FACT includes 10-12 current or former program participants who collaborate directly with Changent staff to offer constructive feedback on how to improve Child First and Nurse-Family Partnership. If you enjoy reflection, thoughtful discussion, and being part of change, the FACT is for you.

FACT Members:

  • Commit to one year of service
  • Attend bi-monthly virtual meetings
  • Collaborate with peers and staff to share ideas and solutions
  • Help shape the services that support families across the country
