Job Description:
TITLE: PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE II (NFP)
DUTIES: Employee in this position is responsible for providing comprehensive community health
nursing services to women and their families eligible for the Nurse Family Partnership Program. The
employee will also be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and
adherence to the NFP model, and to policies, procedures, guidelines and standards of NFP and of the lead
agency.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a four-year
college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and
one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school
of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; or graduation from a school of
professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience including one year of Public Health
Nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. REQUIRED: A current
license to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Board of Nursing. (A BSN is
required for position.)
Applicant must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver
license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol
testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential
applicants.
SALARY: $60,883.55

All new employee will be enrolled in the BCBS Health Savings Account (HSA). Robeson County deposits $950 into each employees HSA account on August 1st of every year.
An employee earns 8 hours sick leave each month (12 days per year).
Vacation Leave is earned based on years of service as listed below for employees:
Less than 5 years 12 days per year (8 hrs. per month)
5 years but less than 10 years 15 days per year (10 hrs. per month)
10 years but less than 15 years 18 days per year (12 hrs. per month)
15 years but less than 20 years 21 days per year (14 hrs. per month)
An employee receives 10-11 paid holidays annually.
Retirement benefits are provided by the Local Government System for employees. Employees contribute 6% of their annual salary to their retirement. After five years of service employees are vested.
The County contributes 4% of gross salary into the 401 (k) Plan of employees
