Nurse-Family Partnership for the American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

At Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP), we honor the strengths, wisdom and traditions of every family. We walk alongside Native communities, supporting families through pregnancy and early parenthood in ways that reflect your community and culture.

With your very own free Nurse-Family Partnership personal nurse, you will get the support, advice and information you need during your pregnancy and when your baby arrives.

Nurse-Family Partnership is free for families who are welcoming a new baby. When you enroll, a registered nurse will partner with you to provide information, guidance and care that aligns with your goals for pregnancy, parenting and family life.

Your NFP Nurse will support you to:

  • Have a pregnancy and birth experience that feels informed, supported and empowering
  • Learn and practice things that make you more confident, like breastfeeding, nutrition, child development, safe-sleep techniques, and more.
  • Get referrals for healthcare, childcare, job training and other support services available in your community.
  • Continue your education, develop job skills or follow your dreams for the future.
  • Become the best family you can be.
